White Story Founder and Creative Director Fiona Myer is passionate about emerging artists and has had a long association with the Victorian College of the Arts.  The Fiona and Sidney Myer Gallery is a highly influential art space that focuses on the curatorship of new work by local, national, and international artists. The Gallery fosters connections and exchanges between artists, academics, students and members of the public.  Spanning over two decades, Fiona has supported and awarded the most exceptional students at the Victorian College of Arts. These awards provide encouragement for graduating artists in one of the most formative periods of their lives.  We are thrilled to award Hugh Crowley the 2022 Fiona Myer 'White on White' Award, for his work “Giving and Receiving.” Hugh’s sculpture utilises wax as a medium, the wax is important as it creates a temple quality to the piece. Although the candles aren’t a light, the piece focuses on the idea of time, and how if the candles were lit, the piece would only last until it burnt down. The piece sheds light on the experience of space and how spaces have limited qualities and it shifts through experiences. The wax as a material has a flexibility and changeability to it.  The 2022 VCA Art Grad Show is on display from 11am - 5pm from the 24th of November until the 1st of December at the University of Melbourne Southbank campus.

White Story is excited to share that we are extending our fashion brand into homewares, and launching a new concept store in High Street, Armadale set to open in Spring ‘21. 

A chapter by the ocean, a private evening spent with WHITE STORY and L'Oréal Australia on Sydney Harbour.   An intimate evening with friends and family, those close to the brand sampled local seafood, enjoyed Champagne, and previewed the brand's latest chapter. Conversations between generations on the lessons of Motherhood. To celebrate a very special Mother’s Day as the White Story family continues to grow, this year we marked the occasion surrounded by a few of the women who teach us so much. 

Notes from a recent article in Vogue Australia by Alice Birrell. "Myer who launched five years ago, riffing on iterations of the white button-down, answered demand for fully bespoke pieces, using a pattern maker and seamstress for suiting, dresses and occasion-wear, produced here in Australia."

On Tuesday the 2nd of March White Story celebrated International Women's Day in partnership with L'Oréal Australia with a panel discussion. 

A piece on the next chapter of White Story: The Sorrento Beach House. The interiors of this Hamptons-style boutique reflect the beachy environment, with wicker and soft grey features, plantation shutters and plenty of greenery throughout.

Introducing W.S Beach House, on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.  52 Ocean Beach Rd. Sorrento. Imagined as a local beach club for the coast - this is a place to come together. Designed as the latest chapter of our story, the Beach House is home to an expanded resort range filled with summer towelling, accessories and homewares, with plenty of signature white.  Like the best summer vacations, we aren’t arriving alone. To mark the first chapter of our partnership with Sparrows Weave, this summer signals the arrival of their signature wicker bags to the coast. Also making the migration, a showcase of local artists curated by Fiona, as part of a series of houseguests to be announced in the coming months.  A place to come for the craftsmanship, and stay for the conversations, we look forward to sharing this story with you all.

Fiona asked Don Holt of Delmore Gallery about the beginnings of his career as an art dealer, and how Aboriginal art became his specific focus. The artist's Don has fostered have evolved to be some of Australia’s most prolific and prominent artist's.

In celebration of International Women's Day 2020, an interview with Founder and Creative Director Fiona Myer on the role of women in fashion, and the responsibility we share to elevate strong female stories.  Role of fashion. Fashion is to compliment women's lifestyles that have changed over decades. It is the necessities of life, a need to accomodate all women, whether they be teenagers, young mothers and right through to middle age. I feel this sense of dressing has changed and to be able to dress in a streamline way without the fuss is something important to me when I design. Accomodating women's needs in terms of size and fit, so that they feel comfortable and empowered.  Most empowering pieces. I would say the one I'm wearing, The Velvet Maxi trench coat paired with Phillipa dress. I was in the Paris Showroom a couple of weeks ago, threw this on and it just made me feel good. Go-to outfit. When I think about it, I was a bit of a tomboy so it was very much about blue jeans and runners (Spalding runners in those days) and a white T shirt. Hold that space, that could be the next collection. Incorporating the "tomboy" aspect into design. I feel that theres a resurgence and a connection between menswear. Menswear is largely about lifestyle and comfort and theres a real cross section between womenswear and menswear. As women, yes we want to feel empowered and special, but we equally just want to feel comfortable. I would say that intertwining practicality and design is important. Words of wisdom for this generation of women. Thinking from a motherly and professional perspective, just be true to yourself. Be kind to yourself, love yourself, we aren't going to get it right all the time but just give it a go! Give everything a chance and don't raise the bar too high or have expectations that are unforeseen, just be kind to yourself, I believe thats the real message in it.
